Allen's Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

  • 1 fryer or chicken cut up any old way
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning (optional)
  • 8 to 12 ounces 1/2 inch wide egg noodles
  • salt and pepper

Cut up chicken. Put in slow cooker and cover with water to about two inches above the chicken. Add 1 teaspoon salt. If desired, add poultry seasoning. Set slow cooker on high and cook chicken until very tender (about 3-4 hours). When chicken is done, add package of noodles and cook on high for about 20 minutes. Be sure the water covers the noodles. Push them down in the broth and add a small amount of hot water if necessary. Add lots of black pepper. Remove from cooker when done or the noodles may become very mushy.
